Choosing Music

I wanted to pick the perfect song for my concept along with the rhythm of certain clips. I also wanted the song lyrics to make sense to what the concept was about.

As a lot of Northern Soul music is upbeat I wanted to make sure it fitted with my concept and a lot of Northern Soul music is based around love. Although friendship is a type of love I didn't want to make the concept complicated to understand. After listening to these songs I found I really liked how upbeat "If that's what you wanted" By Frankie Beverley is. I thought because of how upbeat, uplifting and fun the song is it represents friendship as the joy from the song encourages groups of friends to dance to this song. By listening to the singers voice and the different notes he sings it is clear that the song is something to enjoy and dance along to which I instantly liked and thought would work well with my concept.
